How to customise TradingView News Flow

3 August 2026

Financial news moves fast. The challenge is rarely finding more headlines. It is finding the developments relevant to the markets you actually research.

TradingView News Flow brings financial articles and press releases into one feed. Its filters let you narrow that feed by symbol, market, watchlist, region, corporate activity or news provider.

This guide explains how to build a more focused News Flow without treating every headline as a signal to trade.

What is TradingView News Flow?

News Flow is TradingView's financial news feed. It pulls together timely market reporting, economic developments, company announcements and press releases from a range of sources and providers. Rather than showing only the news attached to the chart currently open, News Flow gives you a dedicated space to browse and filter financial coverage.

You can use it to follow:

  • News connected to a specific symbol
  • Developments across a selected market
  • Headlines related to the symbols in a Watchlist
  • Corporate activity such as earnings or other company announcements
  • Coverage tied to a particular country or region
  • Reporting from selected providers

Availability may vary according to region, instrument, source and subscription.

Why customise your TradingView News Flow?

A broad financial feed can get crowded, particularly during active market sessions.

Filters make the feed more manageable by reducing the number of unrelated headlines shown at once.

A customised flow may help you:

  • Focus on news connected to markets you already follow
  • Separate company news from broader economic developments
  • Create different feeds for different asset classes
  • Return to the same collection of filters later
  • Move from a relevant headline to further research more efficiently

Filtering news does not remove the need to consider the wider market environment. A narrowly filtered feed may exclude developments that still affect the instrument you are researching.

How to access and filter TradingView News Flow

Log in to TradingView and open News Flow from the platform's product or navigation menu. The feed displays a stream of recent financial headlines and articles. Select a headline to open the reading panel and view the available story information.

The filter panel sits above the news feed. Apply one or more available filters depending on the type of information you want to see.

By Watchlist

Select one of your saved Watchlists to display news connected to the symbols in that list. This works well when you want one news feed for a defined collection of markets. If you have not built a list yet, see our guide on how to create and use TradingView Watchlists. Only one Watchlist can be selected at a time, and the Watchlist and individual-symbol filters cannot be used together.

By symbol

Choose a specific symbol to focus on news linked to that market or company. This helps when reviewing recent developments before opening the corresponding chart or running further analysis.

By market

Use the market filter to focus the feed on a broader area, such as stocks, forex, commodities or other available categories.

By corporate news

For supported markets, you can narrow company coverage by different types of corporate activity. This may help separate company-specific announcements from general market reporting.

By region or country

Regional filters can help when researching economic or market developments connected to a particular part of the world. A regional development may affect several markets differently, so treat the filter as a research aid rather than an indication of likely price direction.

By provider

Choose selected news providers when you want to focus on coverage from particular sources. It can still be valuable to compare more than one credible source, particularly when a story is developing or information remains incomplete.

Save a reusable News Flow

Once you have chosen your filters, you can save the settings as a News Flow template. A saved flow can hold your active and inactive filters, so you can return to the same setup without rebuilding it.

For example, you could create separate flows for:

  • Major forex news
  • Symbols in your commodities Watchlist
  • US company announcements
  • European market developments
  • Selected technology shares

Give each saved flow a clear and specific name.

Use News Flow with your Watchlists

News Flow and Watchlists are especially useful together.

For example:

  • Create a Watchlist containing the markets you regularly research
  • Open News Flow
  • Apply the Watchlist filter
  • Review news associated with those symbols
  • Open the relevant chart or symbol page when a story needs further investigation

This creates a more connected workflow, but a headline should not be viewed in isolation.

Before forming a view, consider factors such as:

  • When the development occurred
  • Whether the information is confirmed
  • What the market may already have anticipated
  • The wider economic environment
  • Other developments affecting the same asset
  • Current liquidity and volatility conditions

Build a more focused research routine

A useful News Flow is specific enough to reduce clutter but broad enough to keep context. Consider creating a small number of clearly defined flows rather than applying every possible filter at once.

You can then review:

  • A general market flow for broader context
  • A Watchlist-based flow for the symbols you follow
  • A company or regional flow when deeper research is required

When a headline prompts you to monitor a specific price or technical condition, you can set up a notification to return to the chart later. Our guide on how to create and manage TradingView Alerts explains how.

Create your first News Flow

Start with one market, symbol or Watchlist. Apply the relevant filters, save the flow and adjust it over time based on whether the results stay useful to your research.
