Friday Market Update CPI review – Forex – Stocks – Crypto – News Outlook
Something a touch different today traders to wrap up the week.
Instead of focusing on one market, we have done a walk-around in today’s video. Yesterday’s reaction to the CPI data was so unexpected we wanted to do a spread of some of the top moving markets.
This includes Forex Stock indexes and Crypto. We have focused in on the GBPUSD as, once again, it led the charge after risk markets found their flow. We have also included a wrap-up of some crypto markets after positive moves to end the week.
Everything ran to script as higher-than-expected CPI hit, but this quickly changed as buyers seemed to just shrug off the data and came piling back into the market. This was a total surprise. Many are asking now if the market thinks that we have seen a peak in inflation and we might start to see it stabilize.
Tonight we see another piece in the inflation puzzle but has that just been pushed out the door? I thought that tonight’s retail sales data could have an impact, but after last night’s reaction, I am not calling anything from this point!
