Payments
Yes, the minimum deposit is $100 (or equivalent in your account currency).
Deposits may be declined for a number of reasons, including:
- Insufficient funds or credit limits
- Expired or incorrectly entered card details
- Fraud prevention restrictions
- Online/international transactions disabled
- Suspicious activity flagged by your card issuer
- Temporary issues with the payment processor
Most of our payment options are instant. The term ‘instant’ means that a transaction is carried out within a few seconds without interference or manual processing by financial department specialists. If a deposit is not carried out instantly, Eightcap will aim to complete it within 24 hours. Eightcap is not liable for any delays in processing times caused by issues with payment systems. Internal transfers between accounts of the same name are performed instantly.
Deposits must come from a bank account or debit/credit card in the same name as your Eightcap trading account. Joint account payments are accepted if a named depositing party matches our account records. Eightcap strictly prohibits third-party deposits.
Deposits may be made 24/7.
No, all deposits must be made in the base currency of your trading account. If an international transfer is made in a different currency, the receiving bank may convert it at its own exchange rate or return the funds. This may result in additional charges or delays. Eightcap strongly recommends depositing in the same currency as your trading account to avoid unnecessary costs.
No, all deposits and withdrawals must come from accounts in the same name as your Eightcap trading account.
We support multiple currencies, including AUD, USD, GBP, EUR, NZD, CAD and SGD.
Eightcap does not charge internal fees, but your payment provider may apply transaction or processing fees.
If you no longer have access to the payment method you originally used for your deposit, please contact our support team so we can verify before authorising an alternative withdrawal method. You’ll need to provide official documentation confirming the card/account closure.
Eightcap offers a variety of withdrawal methods to accommodate its clients' preferences and locations. The availability of specific options may vary depending on your region. Login to your Eightcap account to view methods available in your region.
No, withdrawals must be made to the same account used for deposits.
We review withdrawal requests within 1–2 business days. Once approved, the time it takes for funds to reach you depends on your payment method and provider. Most methods listed on our payments page take 1–5 business days after processing. We may request documents before completing a withdrawal. Check Withdrawal History in your client portal for updates.
We may ask for a bank statement to verify that the receiving account belongs to you and that the payment details are correct. Upload it through the Upload Bank Statement option on the Payments page in your client portal. Please ensure your document:
Shows your full name (as per the name on your withdrawal request);
Displays your account number or IBAN, transit/branch code, and SWIFT code (if applicable); and is not older than six months.
Eightcap does not charge any internal fees for deposits or withdrawals. Keep in mind that the provider you use might charge you a transaction fee and/or international processing/conversion fee.
Sign in to your client portal and open the profile menu > My Account to access your transaction history. You will find your deposit and withdrawal history here. If you cannot find a transaction, contact support with its date, amount and payment method.
No, Eightcap does not pay interest on any funds held in trading accounts.
Accounts
There is a maximum of five trading accounts per entity type. In certain circumstances, clients may be able to request beyond the five account limit.
Standard accounts have spreads from 1.0 pip and generally no trading commission, although share CFDs may carry commission. RAW accounts have spreads from 0.0 pips and commission of US$3.50 per standard lot, per side; rates vary by account currency and entity. Compare the full pricing before choosing.

Registration can be blocked if we cannot offer an account in your location, your assessment is incomplete or a technical issue prevents submission. Check any on-screen message and your application details. If the reason is unclear, contact support with the exact error message. We cannot guarantee that a restricted application can be approved.
If you do not pass the suitability assessment, we may be unable to open a trading account for you. Contact support if you think an answer was recorded incorrectly or need help understanding the outcome. Eightcap cannot override eligibility requirements.
The Eightcap entity that provides your account depends on factors including your country of residence. You can find it in your application and account documents. If you need help identifying your entity, contact support. Products and terms may differ between entities.

Trading costs
Trading costs can include spreads, commissions and overnight swaps, depending on the account, instrument and position. Eightcap does not charge internal deposit or withdrawal fees, although payment providers or banks may charge their own fees. If you have not traded for 12 months, an inactivity fee of 10 units of your account currency per month may apply. Check your account terms for the fees relevant to you.
In your client portal, go to Accounts, select Manage on the relevant trading account and choose Change Leverage. The available settings depend on your account and instrument.
Margin requirements depend on leverage, instrument and position size. You can use our margin calculator to estimate the margin needed.
The minimum trade size for FX pairs is 0.01 lot (1,000 units of the base currency).
- 0.01 lot = 1,000 units
- 0.1 lot = 10,000 units
- 1 lot = 100,000 units
Swap rates are tripled to account for weekend financing, as markets are closed and swaps cannot be charged on non-trading days.
Triple swap timing depends on the asset class:
- Forex: Wednesday
- Stocks, Indices and Commodities: Friday
- MT4: Swaps cannot be applied over the weekend, so charges triple on Friday.
A swap is an overnight financing adjustment that may be a charge or a credit when you keep a position open past the instrument's rollover time. Keep an eye on triple-swap days, when three days of swaps are applied at once to cover the weekend. Check the instrument specifications for the current rate and rollover schedule.
When you trade share CFDs, you don't own the underlying share, but you may receive a dividend adjustment. If you hold a long position on the ex-dividend date, you'll receive an adjustment; if you hold a short position, you'll pay one.
We do not charge fees on FX or CFD trades. However, overnight positions may incur swap charges.
Fees and commissions vary by instrument and account type. For full details, visit our Compare costs page and select the relevant instrument to view swap rates, fees and commissions.
Leverage depends on the Eightcap entity your account is registered under and whether you are classified as a Retail or Professional client.
If you have no free margin:
- You cannot open new positions.
- Existing positions may be stopped out.
- Your account balance can fall to zero if losses equal or exceed your available funds.
Yes, we offer Islamic (swap-free) accounts. An administration charge applies instead of an overnight swap, depending on the instrument and terms. Contact support for eligibility, the fee schedule and the terms that apply to your entity before requesting one.
Swap rates are rollover interest rates (that's earned or paid) for holding positions overnight. Learn how swap rates are calculated.
Overnight financing (swap) charges are applied at the New York close, which is 00:00 platform time.
Your total position size (exposure) is calculated by:
Index/asset price × point value (or tick value) × number of CFDs
For example, you purchase 1 CFD on the ASX 200 at an index level of 5,750.
If 1 point = AUD 1:
- You make AUD 1 for every point the index rises.
- You lose AUD 1 for every point the index falls.
- Total position size (exposure) = 5,750 × 1 = AUD 5,750
This means a 100% move relative to the entry level (5,750 points) would equal AUD 5,750, which represents the full position value.
If instead:
- 1 point = AUD 10 → Exposure = 5,750 × 10 = AUD 57,500
- 1 point = AUD 25 → Exposure = 5,750 × 25 = AUD 143,750
Your profit or loss is calculated by multiplying the number of points moved by the point value.
Alternative calculation: Decimal tick sizes
In some cases, the minimum tick size is measured in decimal movements (to the right of the decimal point).
For example, CFDs on the S&P 500 may trade in 0.1-point or 0.01-point increments.
If the S&P 500 is trading at 2,660:
- If tick size = 0.1 and 1 tick = $1 → There are 10 ticks per full point → Position size = 2,660 × 10 × $1 = $26,660
- If tick size = 0.01 and 1 tick = $1 → There are 100 ticks per full point → Position size = 2,660 × 100 × $1 = $266,600
While these figures may appear high, in practice a single tick is often worth $0.10 or $0.01, which significantly reduces the actual exposure.
We offer cash CFDs, which do not have an expiry date.
As CFDs are traded on margin, you will pay or receive overnight financing based on the relevant benchmark rate for the currency in which the position is denominated. You may hold the position for as long as you choose, provided margin requirements are maintained.
Yes, scalping and hedging are permitted.
For ASIC-regulated clients, hedging is available to wholesale clients only.
No, we don't adjust leverage during events. Leverage and margin requirements can vary by entity, account and instrument, and may change under the applicable trading terms. Check the current instrument specifications and any account notices before trading around a news event.
The stop-out level is triggered when your account equity falls to 50% of the required margin for your open positions.
At or below 50%:
- Positions are automatically liquidated
- Closures begin with the largest losing position
You should not rely on automatic liquidation to manage risk. We strongly recommend implementing exit strategies and stop-loss orders. Stop-loss orders are not guaranteed and may be subject to slippage in volatile markets.
Available leverage depends on the Eightcap entity your account is registered under, account classification and instrument. Check your account terms and the instrument's margin requirements in the trading platform, or contact support for the limits that apply to you. Higher leverage increases both potential gains and potential losses.
When trading CFDs, you are required to deposit only a percentage of the total contract value. This percentage is known as the margin requirement.
Margin is based on the position’s notional value and the applicable margin rate. For a simple leverage-based requirement, margin = notional value ÷ leverage. For example, a USD3,000 position at 1:30 leverage requires USD100 of margin before other applicable requirements.
Live clients can access a margin calculator in the Client Portal.

Trading terms
Eightcap does not charge any internal fees for deposits or withdrawals. Keep in mind that the provider you use might charge you a transaction fee and/or international processing/conversion fee.
Market gapping refers to a price jump in an asset (e.g. currencies, indices, commodities) between two trading periods where no transactions occurred.
A gap is the difference between an asset’s closing price in one session and its opening price in the next. Gaps most commonly occur overnight or over weekends but can also happen during shorter timeframes in volatile conditions.
In addition to spreads, we charge commissions for share CFDs and overnight and triple swaps where swap rates are tripled on a Wednesday to account for the settlement of trades over non-trading days.
Slippage is the difference between the price requested for an order and the price at which it is executed. It can occur when prices move before an order is filled, particularly during fast or thin markets. Slippage can be positive or negative.
You are responsible for monitoring your positions at all times. We do not offer guaranteed stop-loss orders.
- You will receive a platform notification when your equity falls to 80% of required margin. You may deposit additional funds to maintain or open positions.
- If your equity falls to 50% or below, positions will be automatically liquidated, starting with the largest losing position.
You should not rely on automatic liquidation to manage risk. We strongly recommend using risk management strategies, including stop-loss orders (note: stop-losses are not guaranteed and may be subject to slippage in volatile markets).
Spreads are the difference between the bid (buy) price and the ask (sell) price of an asset. They represent the cost of opening a trade and are measured in pips or points.
Trade volume is the size of a trade. On CFD platforms it is usually entered in lots; the number of units represented by one lot depends on the instrument's contract size. Check the contract specifications before placing an order.
Equity is your account balance adjusted for the current profit or loss on open positions and any applicable charges. It changes as market prices and your open positions change.
CFDs are high-risk products that involve using borrowed money (leverage) to trade. This means you can lose the entirety of your initial investment if the market doesn’t go your way. It’s important to have a solid risk management strategy in place.
CFDs are leveraged over-the-counter derivative products that allow you to speculate on price movements of global markets like forex, stocks, commodities and cryptocurrencies, without owning them.
Depending on your account type and region, you can trade CFDs on forex, indices, commodities, shares and crypto.
The bid price is the ‘quote price’ a trader or investor can sell at and the ask price is the quote price a trader/investor can buy at.
Leverage allows you to control a larger position with a smaller deposit by borrowing funds from your broker.
It is expressed as a ratio. For example, with $100 and leverage of 1:30, you can gain exposure to up to $3,000 in positions.
Leverage can amplify both profits and losses.
While results vary by traffic source, our optimised funnels and trusted brand deliver industry-leading performance, with conversion rates reaching up to 54%* from lead to funded account. *Based on the previous 12 months.
